Dear Readers
Now that the dust is settled, I decided to sit down and share my experience to help out potential candidates.
Overall prep time: around 6 months but of course not including number of years of experience and being CISSP helps massively
Prep resource: CSA guide v3.0, CCSP CBK book by Gordon, ISC2 exam guide, ENISA, NIST publications and mentoring session by Naresh. I also attended ISC2 boot camp and watched Naresh’ video on SOC and other material that was posted on WhatsApp group
Exam Tips
1.       Naresh’ mentoring session will help in highlighting key exam topics
2.       Look for CIA in question to get to right answer
3.       Make sure your answer is a management answer; avoid wearing technical hat while in exam
4.       Time provided is more than sufficient so take your time and take breaks to help relax
5.       Do not change your answer as your if unsure about any question as your gut feeling is usually right
6.       125 questions but only 100 are marked so any questions that does not make sense is probably beta question, do not waste time on such questions
7.       I followed divide and conquer technique and divided 125 questions into set of 5 and then focused on 25 questions and made sure all are answered or flagged. I then went back and answered all, also try and find relevance as you will find some questions are related
